Drawn thread work samples x 6

Here we have 6 different examples of drawn thread work also known as drawnwork or drawn-thread work.

This is a form of ornamental needlework where threads are intentionally removed from the fabric, and then remaining threads are then used to create decorative, lace like patterns through various embroidery stitches, such as buttonhole stitch.

It is an ancient form of openwork embroidery and is considered a precursor to lace.

In Italy it is known as Punto Tirato.

These 6 samples are approximately 16cm x 14cm and would look wonderful mounted against a dark background in a set of pictures. I have photographed these against a purple silk hankie.

All my items are vintage and therefore it is possible to have imperfections - please be aware of this before purchasing, if in doubt please message me. I will try to do my best with descriptions.
